Grading System

Grades 1-5

Mark Description
The following marks are used for all major subject areas:
A 90-100High end of this range– Demonstrates original thinking and application of such thinking to new situations. Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and a more than adequate understanding of material.

Low end of this range–Demonstrates, with proper teacher direction, some original thinking and application of such thinking to new situations. Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and a more than adequate understanding of material.

B  80-89Accomplishes assigned work with accuracy and thoroughness. Demonstrates, in the manner required by the discipline, a more than adequate understanding of the material.
C  70-79High end of this range–Accomplishes the work assigned. Demonstrates an adequate understanding of the material.

Low end of this range–Accomplishes the work assigned, but sometimes shows lack of either accuracy, thoroughness, or an adequate understanding of material.

D  65-69Demonstrates some understanding of material and exhibits some skills development, but needs significant help to accomplish the work.
F  Below 65Fails to accomplish the work assigned, or lacks the essential skills to accomplish the assigned work accurately.
